\u201cChairs<\/strong>: Daniel Olsson (Karlstad university) & Per Sund (Stockholm University)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This sub-theme provides a forum to highlight initiatives for action competence and key competencies in Environmental and Sustainability Education<\/strong> (ESE), with a view to enhancing a more contemporary and comprehensive quality education through further theorization, conceptualization and empirical investigations of action competence and key competencies for sustainability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The underlying educational idea is to empower young people through developing such competencies, and the teaching aim is to apply the knowledge and skills young people learn at school and turn knowledge into action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strand invites all stakeholders interested in competencies and ESE\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
